They also had friendly front of house staff and good food. The store is fun to shop in (and cheap).

Food was prompt and accurate. Nice service. It was here I learned the mystery of the triangle.

This restaurant need a to offer more gluten free options. I'm tired of salads and baked potatos. Step up cracker barrel.

You can ORDER takeout ONLINE and pick up your food on the go! What?! Super helpful on long road trips.

This was a pit stop on a long road trip, we wanted a chance to stretch and refresh ourselves so we picked a sit down place over a fast food chain. This chain is known for its "country store" so there's a busy retail area in the front with lots of knickknacks, quilts, and old-fashioned toys and snacks. The restaurant area is to the back, the hostess was swamped but maintained a friendly, efficient manner. We were seated after a time and our server greeted us promptly and was also friendly. Half my party was vegan and I was genuinely surprised to find options for them on the menu which is decidedly meat-oriented. They had veggie platters which is a choice of three or four sides served with biscuits or cornbread (neither bread is vegan). I didn't want to eat a really heavy meal before getting on the road so I had a grilled trout entree that was fine (imagine eating a shrug, meh) which came with three sides. The biscuits that came with the meal were great, especially with a side of apple butter to spread on them. I would certainly stop here again for a reliably clean friendly experience, but it's nothing amazing.

Staff is nice, but they are SLOW. Called 20 minutes ahead for chicken and dumplings to go, then had to wait forever for the food. Don't bother calling ahead because they have one little old sweet lady who doesn't put your meal together until after you pay anyways. Not sure what the point of call ahead is?
